City Growers’ Bee Ambassadors is a paid summer apprenticeship for New York youth aged 14-18. The program focuses on apiculture (beekeeping!), green jobs, and environmental justice.

Bee Ambassadors will:

• gain practical skills to maintain a healthy honeybee hive

•  learn to identify native/invasive plants and pollinators

• deepen understanding of native ecosystems and the ecosystem benefits of native fauna and flora

• investigate environmental justice issues such as air and water pollution, food access, and climate change

•  explore green job sites in New York City through weekly field trips

•  practice essential job skills as an apprentice while making $16.50/hour

Summer 2025 schedule is still TBD! However, the program generally operates for 6 weeks in July and August.
