Brooklyn Bee Corps
Brooklyn Bee Corps is a summer internship that provides local youth aged 16-21 with a unique opportunity to actively participate in native plant and pollinator restoration. Interns apprentice with an experienced beekeeper, while assisting with the maintenance of a native plant restoration site, the Naval Cemetery Landscape, managed by City Growers’ partner Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. Bee Corps interns will gain skills in beekeeping and environmental restoration, while learning about and gaining experience in the green job sector.
Today’s young people are tomorrow’s leaders, and it is our responsibility to equip them with the tools they need to create a greener and healthier future. Reversing the course of environmental degradation can only happen if it starts now, with informed, aware, environmentally literate and skilled young people. City Growers’ Brooklyn Bee Corps cultivates such leaders.
We are not accepting applicants for the Brooklyn Bee Corps at this time. Check back in 2019!
